The Third Squad is investigating an unusual incident that occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 13, in New Hyde Park.
According to detectives, a student contacted New Hyde Park Memorial High School, 500 Leonard Blvd., to report an unknown person posted on Snapchat that they were going to “shoot up” the school on Thursday, Dec. 14. The police were notified and responded before the start of the school day. All entrances to the school and the area were monitored by police for any suspicious activity. There were no incidents. All students remained safe during the school day.
This investigation is ongoing.
