Women Arrested After Alleged Cab Robbery


The Third Squad reports the arrest of a New Cassel woman for Robbery that occurred in New Cassel on Monday, August 18 at 10:30 pm.

According to detectives, a 37 year old male driver working for Taxi Hispanic Express picked up the defendant Patricia Wright, 25, on Third Avenue. A short distance away Wright (who was sitting in the backseat) grabbed money that was in the driver’s hand as he was making change and a brief struggle ensued. The driver then stopped the cab on Hopper Street and Wright fled on foot through a rear yard of a nearby residence. Responding Third Precinct Police Officers were able to locate Wright on Wright Street in the vicinity of Broadway. She was then placed into police custody without incident. There were no weapons displayed. There were no injuries reported.

Wright is charged with Robbery 3rd Degree.
